Altierre Corp. empowers retailers to excel in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) era. The company’s proprietary bi-directional “hopping” technology provides unlimited scalability and operates seamlessly in the store regardless of line-of-sight and Wi-Fi or channel frequency interference issues that hinder many solutions. Altierre’s system runs on thin architecture and its best-in-class ultra-low power requirement provides extended battery, sensor and access point lifespans. The bi-directional solution not only monitors items and activities but also sends alters to designated associates to help prevent shrink and to capitalize on new profit opportunities. Altierre turnkey platform is transforming the $12 trillion retail industry by turning omnichannel strategy into reality. Benefits range from billions of dollars in cost savings and increased revenue to enhanced productivity, merchandising and consumer experience. Altierre brings asset visibility to retail, foodservice, automotive, supply chain, manufacturing and defense. Altierre, incorporated in 2003, is headquartered in San Jose, Calif. • Temperature sensors

Altierre’s temperature sensors greatly reduce or eliminate high cost perishables spoilage. The IoT sensors continuously monitor and send instant alerts if temperatures rise or fall even one degree outside a pre-determined specified range.

The sensors have been designed to operate flawlessly in temperatures ranging from sub-zero freezers to hot food preparation and service areas.

The sensors are deployed in stores, food service operations, restaurants, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, transportation vehicles, and other temperature-critical environments.

The sensors serve as vital tools not only to prevent spoilage and build profits, but also, as important, to substantially reduce health and food safety risks and to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Out of stock sensors

Altierre’s sensors end the scourge of out-of-stocks.

The sensors flag any item no longer available on the shelf and instantly send an alert to a designated associate.

The increased sales from ending or reducing out-of-stocks at a large business can easily reach millions of dollars or more. Ensuring products are in stock also vastly reduces the need for customers to shop at a competitor down the street or online to purchase what they want.

In-stock consistency enhances customer satisfaction and brand reputation. Like all of Altierre’s solutions, the sensors work in all business areas and environments. The ability to recoup sales from items that would otherwise have been out-of-stocks – even excluding purchases of alternative products instead of the out-of-stocks – provides substantial business benefits.

  • IoT platform

Altierre’s wireless bi-directional IoT platform operates seamlessly in every business environment

Our proprietary intelligent channel hopping technology, limited data synchronization requirement, and narrow transmission signal eliminate interference issues.

Altierre’s transmission signal (a few hundred KHz) is like a pinpoint compared with Wi-Fi’s 22MHz bandwidth. When Wifi is in use, static channel-based protocols are 400% more likely to be blocked or degraded compared with Altierre’s system.

Our dynamic bi-directional platform transmits and receives data leveraging more than 1,000 guaranteed time slots. Static protocols, in comparison, are limited to seven guaranteed time slots, plus an addition nine “contentious,” or shared slots, for transmitting data. That is a huge differentiating factor.

The platform also provides unlimited scalability. A single Altierre access point can manage up to 50,000 sq ft, and the system can be expanded to include a million or more sensors. Companies can expand their IoT deployments to whatever degree and speed best meets ongoing expansion needs and desire to reap additional benefits.

  • Electronic shelf labels

With Altierre, one thing is certain: Pricing accuracy and product details will never be an issue again.

The system instantly and automatically updates prices and product details with 100% accuracy.

As a result, labor costs drop dramatically, often ranging into millions of dollars or much more depending on the number of stores or showrooms involved. Associates who had been manually updating paper prices can be redeployed to higher value activities.

Shoppers gain increased trust and confidence in the brand as pricing accuracy continually ranks at or near the top of the list of priorities in nearly all customer satisfaction surveys.

The benefits of Altierre’s bi-directional shelf labeling solution, however, extend beyond pricing accuracy and labor saving. The IoT system empowers companies to fully exploit dynamic pricing and promotional profit opportunities.

Managers can quickly exploit emerging opportunities by highlighting and changing prices by product categories, health themes, time of day or night, or other variables.
