São Paulo, October 2021 - Gertec is already a reference in the production of so-called card machines, but now it also wants to fight in other segments of the payment method market. The company is in the process of model migration - from a hardware company to a services platform.
For this, the company relies on its expertise in the development of technologies and on its leadership position, with more than six million devices produced and distributed in the main cities of the country, thanks to partnerships with banks, acquirers and payment arrangement institutions that participate directly in the sector's ecosystem.
“We are changing our strategy, adjusting the value proposition and the business model, which tend to sustain our growth in the future and take us to a new level in the so-called industry 4.0”, explains Jorge Ribeiro, founder and CEO of Gertec.
According to him, the company intends to gain even more relevance and expand its offer of solutions, now with an eye on new market demands and technological innovations, as in the case of Pix.
Gertec operates in a segment that is undergoing striking changes in Brazil and in the world. Here, the trend is for this process to be accelerated in the coming years, especially with the entry of technology developers and retail itself.
This is a time for change, with acquirers delivering a larger menu of services in conjunction with multiple partners. “Whoever presents the best solution for the customer tends to gain more space. But it is important to note that the credit card sector still has room to evolve, preserving the current POS operation model”, adds Ribeiro.
For the entrepreneur, Gertec's challenge is not to offer one method of payment or another, but to make available to its partners the best option for their profile, to offer the best experience with sustainable results. In his opinion, this transition phase is also being marked by a strong cultural change, involving the entire production chain and consumers. “We are reinventing this business, investing in offering other types of operations, which will act as vehicles for commercial partners to channel their banking services”, he concludes.
Gertec believes that the consolidation of its plans will lead the company to going public in the future, in up to five years. “It will be a natural movement, we are a company that is in constant growth and the intention is to continue along this path and navigate new markets based on the technology's DNA”, comments the CEO.
With more than six million products on the market, the brand is present in the main financial institutions and in all retail in Brazil and abroad. “One of our purposes is based on constantly bringing new technologies to the market, which together with one of our strengths, assistance, we want to settle all the pains of the customer”, he adds.
