KOAMTAC® Inc., a leading manufacturer of Bluetooth companion barcode scanners, RFID Sleds, mPOS solutions, and enterprise charging solutions, has launched a mini wearable Bluetooth barcode scanner named the KDC185. The KDC185 offers the same great benefits as the KDC180 but in a smaller package.
The KDC185 is a mini BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) companion scanner designed as a wearable device which can be configured as either a one-finger Ring Scanner or Safety Glove scanner for maximum ergonomics, comfort, and hygiene. The KDC185 securely clips into the Glove or Ring Trigger and can be easily removed for sanitization or to transfer to another wearable. When combined with either wearable option, the KDC185 offers a fully hands-free scanning experience ideal for picking, sorting, and inventory operations.
The KDC185 can read all common 1D or 2D barcodes, even in fast moving environments thanks to global shutter imaging technology. The KDC185 provides instant pairing options including NFC Pairing, scannable pairing barcodes, and through Samsung KNOX. Data is transferred from the KDC185 to a host smartphone, tablet, or watch via BLE 5.0, ensuring a fast and secure connection.
Weighing in at only 1.2 oz. (35g), the featherweight KDC185 is light enough and small enough to be worn on a single finger with little to no fatigue. In terms of ruggedness, the KDC185 achieved an IP65 rating and a 6’ (1.8m) drop spec ensuring that your KDC will not be defeated by accidental slips or falls. Despite its compact design, the KDC185 is equipped with a 0.66” display and 2 LED indicators that relay important scan information to the user. Power is provided via a removable 500mAh battery.

The KDC185 boasts an array of accessories including both the Safety Glove and Ring Scanner as well as 2-Slot and 10-Slot Charging Cradles for secure fast charging. Additionally, the KDC185 is the first KDC to feature a Type-C USB port, which can be used to charge the device or connect to a PC or Mac. The KDC185 is compatible with Android, iOS, Mac OS X, and Windows devices and includes exceptional support and SDK availability for customized solutions.
